Hardware configuration for benchmark tests
The CPU was an
3.3 GHz Intel i7-3960X processor with 64 Gb of RAM. This is a 6-core processor
(12 virtual cores). Performance was found to be better using 6 threads with most
programs and this number of threads was therefore set for programs and commands
that support multi-threading.
